I’m Tamara, the proud owner and founder of this passion-driven company. I’m also a wife, mom, and creator who, like so many, has faced both heartache and triumph along the way. I started AubScents in 2017 during one of the most challenging periods of my life, and today, it’s become my full-time joy and purpose. AubScents is more than just a brand; it’s the story of my journey through love, loss, faith, and resilience. The name AubScents was created in my mother’s kitchen during a family brainstorming session. At the time, my daughter Aubrie was just a few weeks old, and I was searching for the perfect name for my business. My sister Niki had the brilliant idea to combine "Aub" from Aubrie and "Scents" to reflect the amazing smells in my products. From that moment, AubScents came to life, blending family, love, and incredible products!

The Journey That Led to AubScents 

In 2017, I found myself at a crossroads, caught between the joy of becoming a new mother and the profound grief of losing my grandmother to cancer. My grandmother, who was eager to meet her great-granddaughter, never had the chance to hold her. As if that pain wasn’t enough, I was unexpectedly let go from my job while on maternity leave—a blow that left me reeling and uncertain of what path to take next. I was already navigating the emotional complexities of motherhood, loss, and the sudden uncertainty of my future. In the midst of this turmoil, I began formulating bath bombs and skincare products, pouring my emotions into each creation. There was something therapeutic about working with my hands, transforming my grief into something beautiful and tangible. But despite this newfound outlet, I felt the pressure to return to the corporate world. I took another job, for financial stability, I was just another number yet again for a company they didn’t value me as a person. The exhaustion of trying to balance my personal life with the demands of a job that didn’t appreciate my worth wore me down, leaving me drained. After two years of feeling drained by workplace drama and depression, I reached a breaking point. I realized that if I was going to truly live life on my terms, I had to take a leap of faith. And so, I decided to bet on myself. The decision wasn’t easy, and the journey has been anything but smooth. There have been many ups and downs along the way, but through it all, I’ve learned that this is my journey to own. Every setback, every challenge, has shaped the business I’ve built today—AubScents. This is not just a business, but a testament to the power of resilience and the importance of believing in yourself. I now teach my children that betting on yourself is one of the most powerful things you can do in life, regardless of how the world sees it. AubScents is more than just a company; it’s a reflection of my journey, my growth, and my commitment to creating something that brings beauty, healing, and peace into the world.

Turning Passion into Purpose 

With a lot of faith and determination, I decided to take the leap and turn my passion for creating skincare products into a business. I wanted to not only create products that smell amazing and make people feel good, but also to foster a healthy work environment that allowed me to spend more time with my family while building something meaningful. Starting AubScents wasn’t easy. There were many obstacles and tough decisions along the way, but with every challenge, I grew stronger. Today, AubScents is my full-time job, and it gives me the opportunity to travel to craft shows and festivals along the East Coast, sharing my products and spreading the word about our mission. I believe in the power of small businesses to create positive change, both in the products we make and in the work environments we foster. At AubScents, we are committed to creating high-quality, handcrafted skincare products that not only smell amazing but are also safe and nourishing for your skin.
